The Community Pharmacy Sub-Committee is a vital arm of the Pharmacy Association of Nepal (PhAN), representing the largest network of community pharmacists across the country. Our members are often the first point of contact for patients, and we are committed to leveraging this unique position to strengthen Nepal’s healthcare system from the primary level.
The sub-committee is dedicated to the welfare, rights, and protection of community pharmacists. We work tirelessly to advocate for their professional interests and ensure they are recognized as essential and highly accessible healthcare providers. Our core activities include:
- Advocacy and Lobbying: We actively engage with policymakers and regulatory bodies to lobby for stronger policies that support community pharmacy practice. Our goal is to create a more robust legal and professional framework that recognizes the pharmacist’s role beyond simple dispensing.
- Protecting Professional Rights: We stand as a unified voice to protect the rights of community pharmacists, ensuring they can practice their profession in a safe and supportive environment. This includes addressing issues related to scope of practice, ethical standards, and fair business practices.
- Welfare and Support: We provide a platform for our members to connect, share expertise, and receive professional support. Through workshops, training sessions, and networking events, we empower community pharmacists to enhance their skills and stay updated with the latest advancements in pharmacy care.
By empowering our network of community pharmacists, the sub-committee aims to improve patient outcomes, promote rational medicine use, and build a more resilient healthcare system for all of Nepal.
